Joining the Board of Column & Stripe: A New Chapter in Connecting Art and Community

This year, I took on a role that’s incredibly close to my heart: I joined the board of Column & Stripe, the young professionals group of the Cleveland Museum of Art. Stepping into this position as Chair of Membership Engagement - Arts Community is both exciting and meaningful, as it gives me a unique opportunity to help connect Cleveland’s art lovers with the artists who make this city’s creative scene thrive.

For those who may not be familiar, Column & Stripe brings together young professionals who are passionate about art, philanthropy, and Cleveland’s cultural heritage. Our events, social hours, and programming are crafted to inspire and engage, offering a place for artists and art lovers alike to gather, explore, and connect with each other and with Cleveland’s rich artistic legacy. From artist studio tours and exhibitions to informal happy hours, Column & Stripe offers endless ways for members to dive into the city’s art world.

As an artist, I’ve always felt that my journey is deeply tied to community, vulnerability, and shared experience. Art is about more than creating something beautiful – it’s about creating spaces where people feel welcome, understood, and inspired. Joining the Column & Stripe board felt like the natural next step to bring those ideals to life, and I’m genuinely excited to contribute to the group’s vision and growth. This new role gives me a chance to help shape the future of our events and gatherings, infusing each one with a spirit of inclusivity, engagement, authenticity and connection.

One of my main goals as Chair of Membership Engagement - Arts Community is to deepen the connection between Cleveland’s art community and its audiences. I want to make sure that artists feel supported and that art lovers feel truly connected to the stories, talent, and hard work that go into every piece. By creating intentional moments – whether it’s through a conversation, an event, or a shared experience – I hope to make each person’s interaction with Column & Stripe as impactful as possible.

Column & Stripe’s first monthly Social Hour is Friday, 11/8 at City Goods. Learn more and RSVP HERE.

Whether you’re an artist, an art enthusiast, or simply someone who values creativity, I invite you to be part of this journey with us. Cleveland’s art scene has so much to offer, and it becomes even more meaningful when we experience it together. If you’re ready to dive in, I encourage you to learn more about Column & Stripe and follow along on Instagram for the latest on our events and happenings. Let’s build something inspiring together!
